She Calls on Congress to Pass, and Bush to Support, McCain’s Immigration Measure

TUCSON, Ariz. €“ Congressional Candidate Gabrielle Giffords released the following statement this evening:

“After five years of doing nothing to address the crisis on our border, tonight the president gave a speech.

It is time for the President to back up his words with actions and convince Republicans in Congress to support the comprehensive solutions that Senator McCain, Governor Napolitano, Congressman Grijalva, and Congressman Kolbe have been working on for years. It is time for Congress to pass this important legislation.

Our families continue to pay the costs of federal failure on the border, and it is long since time that Congress reimburse the taxpayers of Arizona and finally take action to end the crisis.”
