Giffords’ Latest Ad Calls for Strengthening National Security

TUCSON - Gabrielle Giffords’ campaign for Congress released its latest television ad today, entitled “Safe.” The ad highlights Washington’s national security failures, and illustrates Giffords’ plans to make America more secure. It focuses on Giffords’ legislative record in the fight against terrorism (the Security Enhancement Act, SB 1427, 2002). Watch “Safe” in Quicktime or Windows Media.

“Our ports €“ uninspected. Our border €“ unprotected. And we’re still dependent on Mideast oil. Five years after 9/11 Washington’s failed to make us safer,” the narrator states.

“Gabrielle Giffords sponsored Arizona’s law to combat terrorism. She’ll demand real security for families; make America energy independent; 100 percent port inspections; tough new border security.”

The ad will be running on broadcast and cable channels in the Tucson media market, which covers all of Congressional District 8.
