Cactus Roots Connectors at the Community Food Bank
Our first activity of the Cactus Roots Connectors was held on February 24th. The Connectors are working together in various community settings demonstrating that our commitment to making change happen in Southern Arizona reaches out past election day to our wider community.
Forty-five Connectors spent the morning at the Community Food Bank sorting and preparing food packages and distributing food to families. Volunteers also brought donations for the Food Bank.
The work was followed by a picnic in Reid Park where
I joined them for a discussion on my recent visit to Iraq and Israel.
I want to thank all of you who participated. I am honored to have such wonderful friends who are truly committed to making a difference!
If you have not yet participated but are interested in joining the Cactus Roots Connectors for future activities, please click here to fill out our volunteer form. Be sure that ‘volunteer at community events’ is checked and we hope to see you at our next event!
