Becky & Fletcher Strickler

Becky & Fletcher StricklerBecky and Fletcher Strickler have been selected as Gabrielle Giffords’ Supporters of the Month for June. Having graduated from Berkley with a degree in computer science, Fletcher and his brother started Tucson’s first recycling business, eventually moving to Kentucky to start a successful equine flooring business. It was in Kentucky that Fletcher met Becky who had her own line of successful equestrian products at the time.

Fletcher managed to persuade Becky to come visit his real hometown of Tucson and picked the summertime to let her enjoy the cool breezes: “We were driving down Speedway in the middle of July, and I asked her €˜so how do you like Tucson?” They were married soon afterward.

Becky and Fletcher started volunteering in politics during the Kerry Presidential campaign of 2004 and in 2006 became extremely active in the Congresswoman’s campaign. Affectionately known throughout the campaign office as our “dumpster divers” for their work saving hundreds of campaign signs from being destroyed, Becky and Fletcher have volunteered for almost every event that has been put forth by the campaign.

They both believe that the Congresswoman’s victory in 2006 was a crucial victory for all of Southern Arizona. “We need someone with Gabrielle’s intelligence and passion in Washington,” says Becky. “There are too many issues that are critical to Southern Arizona to not have someone with her energy and spirit.”
