Frank Heriza
Frank Heriza has been selected as Gabrielle Giffords’ Supporter of the Month for July. Having majored in Political Science at Gonzaga University, Frank has always been interested in politics and government. After graduating, Frank spent three years in Washington, DC working in Army Intelligence where he visited the Senate and House galleries quite often. Such work gave him insights into the political process that would stay with him, although not always in the forefront, throughout his many successful years in the retail business where he eventually became a Regional Vice President managing over 800 stores.
Frank was able to reignite his passion for politics as well as his serious hobby of Indy car racing when he retired from the retail business in Denver and moved to Tucson. Since his time in Tucson, Frank has been actively involved in local politics and was extremely impressed with Gabrielle - even while being a registered Republican. “I vote for the person,” says Frank. “Gabrielle always struck me as incredibly bright, energetic, and hardworking and I’ve been impressed with her willingness to reach across party lines and bring people together during her first term.” Frank also mentioned how impressed he was that the Congresswoman “comes home every weekend. More people have to know that.”
Frank has helped with many aspects of the campaign, from large mailings to intricate work verifying contribution lists and intends to continue to help whenever he has a free moment. “We’re very lucky to have her,” Frank remarks as he walks out the door to help register more voters in yet another volunteer effort.
