Memorial Day Message
Dear Friend,
I hope you are enjoying this holiday weekend with friends and family. As we commemorate Memorial Day with celebrations, parades and barbeques, I hope you will join me and my family in remembering what makes this holiday so important: the troops who have fought bravely to protect the country we hold so dear.
The strength, selflessness and dedication of our troops and veterans are apparent in every corner of our district. From the airmen at Davis-Monthan and the national guardsmen with the 162nd in Tucson to the soldiers at Fort Huachuca, we are proud that so many dedicated men and women in uniform call Southern Arizona their home. They truly are the bedrock of our community.
We know that the sacrifices of our service members are shared by their families who must carry on while their loved ones are serving our nation, often in distant and dangerous places. As a member of the House Armed Services Committee and the spouse of an active duty military officer, I have made it my priority to fight everyday in Congress for the needs of military families and veterans in our district and across the country. I am proud that our veterans and their families can feel confident that a New GI Bill and a VA prepared to care for their modern-day injuries will be there for them.
I have had the privilege of getting to know many of the brave men and women in uniform and military families who call Southern Arizona their home. Today, on Memorial Day, I reaffirm my ongoing commitment to fight for them, just as they so bravely fight for us.
Sincerely Yours,
Gabrielle
