AZ-08: Free Democratic Volunteer Concert Sunday Featuring Calexico
Concert an opportunity for all Southern Arizonans to get involved, volunteer for Democrats
Tucson, Ariz. – Giffords for Congress is hosting a free concert and barbeque for Southern Arizonans who want to volunteer to Get Out The Vote for Democrats during the final days of the campaign. The concert will be this Sunday, October 24, from noon to 5:30 p.m., on the outdoor patio of Hotel Congress, 311 E. Congress St.
Southern Arizonans are enthusiastic about Gabrielle Giffords’ vision to secure the border, create good jobs in the solar industry and protect our schools. Voters are alienated by Jesse Kelly’s dangerous plans to privatize Social Security, raise taxes on the middle class and cut $1 billion from Arizona’s schools.
The concert will feature performances by Sergio Mendoza, Salvador Duran, Calexico and many others. There will also be guest DJ appearances by Gabrielle Giffords, Secretary of State Candidate Chris Deschene, Giffords for Congress campaign manager Rodd McLeod and many more.
Admission is free for all those who sign-up for one, three-hour volunteer shift during the Get Out The Vote effort leading up to the November 2 election.

Gabrielle Giffords is a third generation Southern Arizonan and the only person in Congress with an active duty military spouse. Gabrielle is not like other politicians. She takes an independent view on the issues and was rated Arizona’s most moderate member of Congress by the National Journal in 2009. She’s voted against a Congressional pay raise every time one has come up, and she doesn’t make earmark requests for campaign contributors. Most importantly, Gabrielle stands up for Southern Arizona by working across the aisle to secure the border, protect our military and veterans and create jobs by investing in solar energy.
