Gabrielle has introduced more than 600 bills and amendments. Forty-five of these have become law in whole or in part, including:
$600 Million in border security funding
Border Security and Homeland Security

- Extending the authorization for E-Verify, the federal database that enables employers to check the legal status of potential hires. (FY 2010 DHS Appropriations Act)
- Tunnel Enforcement Act (H.R. 4326)
- Increasing funding for the State Criminal Alien Assistance Fund (SCAAP), which reimburses local governments for the cost of incarcerating illegal immigrants. (Amendment to the CJS Appropriations for FY 2009 and FY 2010)

- Combat Troops Tax Relief Act (H.R. 3808)
- Improving energy consumption by the armed forces (FY 2010 National Defense Authorization Act)

Accountability to Southern Arizonans
When Gabrielle first was elected to Congress in 2006, she committed to stand up for Southern Arizona and be accountable to her constituents. She has kept this promise. Here is a by the numbers look at her work for us.
Since January 2007 Gabrielle has:
- Opened 7,955 constituent cases
- Closed 7,131 constituent cases
This is an impressive 90% completion rate.
Gabrielle has made 113 trips home to Southern Arizona, including 42 trips to Cochise, Santa Cruz and Pinal Counties.
A successful job seekers’ expo that drew over 300 prospective applicants to meet with employers across the district.
4 Military Academy Days connecting local high school students looking to serve their country with recruiters from America’s military academies.
18 “Congress on Your Corner” meetings where Gabrielle has spoken with a total of more than 2,200 Southern Arizonans in their own neighborhood about any issue of their choosing.
53 Issue forums and town halls. These events have covered a range of issues that concern our district, including border security, immigration, veterans’ affairs, consumer protection, health care, economic recovery, fiscal accountability, water resources, the new GI Bill, the Rosemont Mine and resources for small businesses.
19 on-site workplace town halls for major District employers, including Raytheon Missile Systems, IBM, Cox Communications, Breault Research Organization, EOS Technologies, Radiology Ltd., Citi Tucson, AGM Container Controls, Inc., Honeywell Aerospace, Ridgetop Group and Texas Instruments.

In addition, Gabrielle hosts a weekly conference call between ranking U.S. Department of Homeland Security officials and border-area residents in Cochise County to resolve critical border security matters for those on the front lines of the problem.
